At South Wingfield Primary, we empower all children with a ‘can-do’ attitude in order for them to enjoy, achieve and become confident mathematicians. We have adopted a mastery approach to teaching and learning in mathematics; we want our children to have a deeper understanding of how mathematics works. We encourage all children to develop their understanding of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving so that they can make connections and apply their knowledge in new and unfamiliar situations.
