Remote Learning

Remote Learning in EYFS

During lockdown we are providing our children who are learning from home with a range of play based activities to complete. The work is linked to the focus book of the week which a member of the Class One team record and upload onto the class page for the children to listen to.

We provide activities linked to this story which encourage learning across all seven areas of learning. Activities are suggested for children to enjoy both indoors and outdoors to continue to promote learning outside. The weekly ECaT sheet is uploaded onto the class page which again is linked to the focus story and the supports the children's learning in Communication and Language, Literacy, Understanding of the World and Expressive Arts and Design.

Phonics

To help support the children with their learning of Phonics we provide detailed plans for parents to follow and include video clips that demonstrate the correct pronunciation of sounds. These links include;

we also include links to online games to support the children with their phonics development. The children are already familiar with these as we access them regularly in school.

Maths

To help support children with their learning in Mathematics we use clips from Numberblocks and White Rose to help parents with the language of Maths Mastery and the different representations of numbers that we use in class.

If we are covering a topic that we feel requires further explanation we record a short video and upload this onto our class page to explain the concept to the children.

Contact with staff and each other

To ensure that we maintain contact with the children learning at home we upload videos onto our class page or to Google Classroom so that they can see our faces and hear our voices. This includes;

* Story Time

* Bucket Time

* Monday morning hello and description of learning for the week

* Makaton Monday assembly

* Dough Disco videos for children to follow at home

* Google Meet
