Class 1

Welcome to Class One

This term our topic is Flying and we will be learning all about rockets in space, aeroplanes and helicopters, birds and butterflies and much more. At the moment we are focussing on Space and have built a Space corner in our classroom.

We have been thinking about what it would be like in space and the children have been sharing their love of Star Wars and aliens in their free writing.

We have also been practising adding up! We use the counting on method to add numbers together. We put the bigger number in our head.....whoooooooosh......... and then count on. We can complete the rocket number sentence!

In the Spring Term we looked after 7 eggs in an incubator and after three weeks four chicks hatched!!!!!!!!!!!

We had four beautiful fluffy chicks...........this is where they lived

They had a brooder to keep them warm and food and water. At night time they all snuggle down under the brooder to keep cosy.

Allow me to introduce........Hickety Pickety, Mick the Chick, Shelly and Sooty Footy!

Now our chicks are all grown up and have found new homes. The Miln family have taken home Sooty Footy and Shelly. Mrs Pywell took home Mick the Chick and Hickety Pickety and here they are, all grown up in their very own outside pen! Class One children love to hear updates on the chicks they raised and often look at their photographs.
