School Meals

At South Wingfield Primary School, we are proud to provide healthy, nutritious meals every day. Sally and her dedicated kitchen team work hard to ensure that all children are well catered for and that meals are served efficiently and on time.

Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM)

All pupils in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals, meaning their daily school meal is provided at no cost to families.

Meals for Years 3 to 6

For children in Years 3–6, a school meal costs £3.25 per day.
Payments should be made weekly through your child’s School Money account.

Catering for Dietary Needs

We can accommodate a wide range of allergies, dietary requirements, and food preferences.
If your child needs a tailored medical diet, please complete request a dietary form from the school office so that our kitchen team can plan safely and appropriately.

Support at Lunchtime

Our team of Midday Supervisors support pupils during lunch, ensuring that all children enjoy a healthy meal and have a positive, happy playtime.

Free School Meals Eligibility

If you think your child may be entitled to means‑tested Free School Meals, please visit the Derbyshire County Council website for more information, including the online application form or downloadable paper copy.

Even though all children in EYFS and KS1 receive Universal Infant Free School Meals, it is still important for eligible families to apply for means‑tested Free School Meals, as this can also provide additional funding for the school (Pupil Premium).
