Curriculum Intent, Implementation and Impact Policy Statement
Intent
At South Wingfield Primary School, our curriculum is designed to inspire a love of learning and equip children with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to succeed academically and thrive in modern Britain. We aim to develop confident, curious, and resilient learners who are well-prepared for the next stage of their education and life beyond school. Our curriculum reflects our commitment to inclusivity, high expectations, and the celebration of diversity, ensuring every child feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.
Implementation
Our curriculum is broad, balanced, and carefully sequenced to build on prior learning and deepen understanding over time. It is delivered through high-quality teaching that is responsive to the needs of all learners. We use a range of engaging texts, real-life experiences, and cross-curricular links to make learning meaningful and memorable. Teachers use formative and summative assessment to inform planning and ensure that all pupils are supported and challenged appropriately. Enrichment opportunities, including educational visits, themed weeks, and community projects, enhance the curriculum and promote personal development.
Impact
Children at South Wingfield Primary School leave us as enthusiastic learners with a secure foundation in core subjects and a broad understanding of the world around them. They demonstrate positive attitudes to learning, strong communication skills, and a sense of responsibility and respect for others. Our pupils are well-prepared for the challenges of secondary education and life in modern Britain, equipped with the academic knowledge and personal qualities needed to succeed and contribute positively to society.
