REMOTE/BLENDED LEARNING
During the academic year 2020-21, there may be occasions when we need to give your child/children work to do at home. This may because you and your family need to isolate due to Covid 19, due to a national lockdown or because school have informed you that your child's class or 'bubble' have to isolate due to contact with an infectious person.
Sometimes, not all of the class will be asked to isolate and your child's teacher will therefore provide 'a blended learning approach.' This means they will provide work that is broadly similar to what the rest of the class is doing, but there will not be completely 'live teaching' as the teacher will still be teaching in class. At our school we have over 50% of our children whose parents are classed as Critical Workers, so there are still lots of children in the classroom, which makes live teaching difficult. However, we will use Google Meet to catch up with children working from home each week on a Friday, as well as having at least one other lesson through Google Meet. Please follow the rules for joining any 'live lessons' on Google Meet by watching the video below:

If the whole class has to isolate (which will include the teacher and any TAs in class), then your child's teacher will communicate with you in several ways listed below;
Class 1
Tapestry, the school website, email and for Y1 children Google Classroom
Classes 2, 3, 4 & 5
Google Classroom, the school website and email
Work will be uploaded on a daily basis and your child will be expected to complete the work as if they were in school (not if they are ill of course!). Work can be uploaded back to the teacher and marked. In KS1 & KS2 (classes 2 - 5) your child may also be asked to use; Spelling Shed, My Maths, White Rose Maths, TT Rockstars and Bug Club. We have included class timetables, so you can (where possible) try to follow a normal school day!
There is a handy parents guide on Google Classroom below, which would be useful for you to read beforehand, so that if the situation arises where your child is working from home, you and them know what to do. Any problems please do let us know.
