All parents and carers are automatically members of the PTA. Please let us know if you would like to help out or join the committee. Or if you have any ideas for fundraising, an item you would like us to raise money for, or just any comments, please do get in touch - either in the playground, by email: swptfa@gmail.com or via Facebook messenger. We would love to hear from you! If you haven't already done so, please follow our Facebook page for latest updates.
2023/2024 - This year the focus has been on enrichment. We have raised a huge amount of money through Pumpkin Trail, Rags to Riches clothing collection, After School Disco, Christmas Fayre, wreath making workshop, Carols in the Playground, sponsored Bounce, Mother's Day shop, cake sale and the South Wingfield Primary School Summer Festival, which was an amazing event with a great, chilled-out vibe. We have funded pantomime, Wizard of Oz theatre workshop, circus skills workshop, set up a Year 6 Enterprise fund, gave each class a £25 donation to spend on items of their choice and a new Buddy Bench.
2022/2023 - Another wonderful year, thank you! Events this year included: The Big Bounce, Halloween Trail in school, wreath making workshop in conjunction with the WI, Christmas Fayre, Love Muffin's Valentine's cake sale, World Book Day Bingo, Mother and Father's Day shops and cream teas, raffles and Frozen Friday's ice lolly sales. We secured a grant from Tesco which helped towards new ICT equipment. We also funded a pantomime.
2021/2022 - Thank you so much to everyone for all your support. We had a fantastic year, with some wonderful social events including a very soggy Halloween Trail around the school and another one around the village, Christmas Carols in the Playground, and an end of term Disco. We ran Krispy Kreme doughnut sales, Mother and Father's Day shops, Easter events, raffles and Frozen Friday's ice lolly sales. We also secured a grant from Persimmon Homes for £1000. We were therefore able to fund £1250 towards new library books, £300 for outdoor toys, £110 for gardening equipment and are now saving towards new ICT resources.
2020/2021 - A funny year, with many restrictions in place, which limited our ability to run events. We held some online competitions, doughnut sales, Frozen Friday ice lolly sales, with the focus being on interaction rather than fundraising.
2019/20 - PTA raised money for new bookshelves in the library, and £171 towards new books. They funded a visit from Sue Wilkins, an award winning local author, who spent time reading and talking with the children in each of the classrooms. Sadly, many of the activities that the PTA had planned and organised for Easter / Summer term had to be cancelled.
In the past, the PTA has funded £1,500 for Forest School, £285 for one school reading scheme and £300 for another reading scheme. The PTA also funded a one year pilot of £48 for Play re-cycle membership which enabled the school and PTA to get materials to be used for art and craft in school and at PTA events. The PTA also funded £240 for wooden modular blocks that needed to be replaced.
