Welcome to the Class One September 2023 New Starters Page!
We are very much looking forward to meeting our new starters and their family members. The children in Class One are taught by Miss Goold who is supported by our wonderful teaching assistants, Mrs Pywell (Monday to Wednesday) and Mrs Colman (Thursday and Friday). I understand that your child starting school is such an exciting time but this can also feel slightly overwhelming so if you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me via e-mail lgoold@southwingfield.derbyshire.sch.uk
Learning Through Play
At South Wingfield Primary School we believe that children who feel happy and safe in an environment where they can explore and investigate will be successful learners. Therefore learning in Class One is achieved through a variety of play based activities, some that are led by the children and some that are enhanced by adult intervention. Alongside independent learning we deliver short focused teaching sessions where the children are taught Phonics, Maths and early writing and where we encourage a love of story telling, singing and chat!
