Dear Parents/Carers
The Derbyshire Wildlife Trust are holding a big event along the Cromford Canal on Saturday for local families and are hoping as many children as possible can attend.
There will be lots of fun things for families to join in with including bush craft in the woods, nature trails, minibeast hunts in the meadows, pond dipping near the canal and lots of natural art and craft activities. We are encouraging families to walk or bike between two nature reserves: Lea Wood and Crich Chase Meadows in wildlife fancy dress to illustrate how wildlife move from site to site using ‘corridors’ like the canal or rivers, or even through people’s gardens.
The distance between the two sites is 3.6 miles which will take about 1hr 30 mins to walk and about 30 mins to bike. If youngsters get tired, you can get the train back part of the way.
Many thanks
